New project!

So – after 8 issues, Spandex is done – and after 43 issues, The O Men is done too! (Although I do have more plans for the characters eventually.)
So what’s next? Zeros! It’s set in the same universe as Spandex and The O Men but in the future. It’s an all-ages comic but it will feature characters from Spandex and The O Men, and it will address similar themes (yes, really!).
In fact, one of the Spandex characters is a big part of it, right from the start!
You can read the story completely for free at http://www.zeroscomic.com, and I’ll also be collecting chapters of the saga together for a small print run, plus for sale on Comixology.   I’ve got five volumes planned and I’m also hoping to get it published, so wish me luck!

Thought Bubble!

Hi guys, so this weekend I will be at the amazing Thought Bubble convention in Leeds, selling my wares! The very final O Men book will be debuting at the show – if you’ve never read O Men, well it has connections to Spandex – it’s all one big universe! And perhaps one or two Spandex characters will make an appearance in the final O Men book…

And you can find out what my next project will be – it’ll be on my banner (it’s something you may not expect!).

Have a look at this map – I’m in the main hall, towards the back on the right! If you’ve never been to Thought Bubble and are tempted to come – come along, it’s amazing (but maybe check they’ve got tickets available first). I’ll be putting O Men book 5 on sale after the show!

The O Men Book Four is now out! It collects the first seven issues of ‘season two’ of The O Men as Kelly (Vixen) attempts to build a brand new team. The book includes includes a special anthology issue featuring special guest artists from the UK comics scene. It is 200 pages with some special secret colour pages included 😉

Book Four takes us up to where I left the series before I put The O Men on hiatus to work on Spandex (and then Book Five will be the massive grand finale – hopefully available at Thought Bubble 2016!)

Book Four costs £7 (including postage) and is available thru Paypal via this link.

Spandex 6 & O Men 2 on Comixology!

It’s a big day for me, as I have two comics going up on Comixology (digital comics app/website) – Spandex 6 and O Men Book 2. Spandex 6 is one of my favourite issues I’ve ever made, and if you’ve never tried one of my comics, I’d love you to read this one. It has a huge twist (and you don’t actually have to have read the whole series to follow it).
Also, after a bit of a gap, O Men Book Two is going on sale. It’s a whopper, containing issues 8 to 17 of the series, with crazy storylines involving Agatha Christie, Sylvia Plath and Jane Austen! It was mostly done in my late 20s and I think my style was really starting to evolve here.

Spandex issue 5 on Comixology!

Spandex 5 is hitting Comixology today! It’s a spotlight issue on Liberty as she searches for her missing team-mates and ends up having to fight just about every villain in the Spandex universe! Also: Liberty’s origin revealed! Discover who is the real leader of Les Girlz! And meet Gulk, James Bend and Flexigirl – all in ‘Big Secret Crisis’!

Two tiny announcements

(…which may not mean much, but I thought I’d mention them anyway.)
First up, I’ve just reprinted the ever-popular Spandex 1. It’s kind-of the same as the previous version, but I have made a few tiny tweaks to the editorial bits to remove mentions of the Spandex book I originally planned. (The original plan, if you remember, was to just print up Spandex 1, and then the rest of the series would go into a book that I was going to publish myself. Everything changed – but the original plans were mentioned in previous editions of Spandex 1, which would have been very misleading for new readers!)

Secondly, the mini-comics that came with Spandex issue 6 are now available to read on this website (look for the tabs on the left). I’ll be reprinting Spandex 6 soon, and amending mentions of them in the editorial there. Originally, the mini-comics were given away free with Spandex 6, but after cutting out and stapling approximately 900 of them, I cannot do any more! (I don’t know how other small-pressers do it!) The Spandex Packs will now only contain the original issues rather than all the extras, which will make my life a lot easier.
I’ll also put the Spandex 5 mini-manga comic on the website, and all the Spandex 7 mini-artbook pages are all scattered around on this website.

Podcast book reviewwww

There’s a very nice Spandex book review on the SILENCE podcast… Thanks guys! I like this bit: “…The sexy bits are really scary, the scary bits are really scary, and the sad bits where people get killed and stuff are like ‘oh my god’…”
It’s a cool podcast (the Spandex review is at about 30 minutes), it’s here: http://mindlessones.com/2014/07/22/silence-108/

Spandex badges

I’ve just printed up a fresh set of Spandex badges! There are 10 designs – 8 old favourites and 2 brand new ones! The 2 new ones are a scary Gayzilla badge and a rainbow/team badge.
